Christmas Biophysics Workshop 2026

Scope

The Christmas Biophysics Workshops (XBWs) are annual regional meetings of research groups from Austria, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia in biophysics, soft matter physics, and related fields. The first Christmas Biophysics Workshop was organized by Rudolf Podgornik (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Silvia Tomić (Zagreb, Croatia) in 2006 in Zagreb. Since then, with only the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic, the workshops have been organised every year, usually in mid-December in a small town in the region. The character of the meeting is rather informal, aiming to create a relaxed atmosphere in which recent results and ideas are discussed, scientific collaborations are established, and friendships grow beyond borders.
